I have a 5 yr. old mare who on her right front hoof on the outside wall has a split that runs from the hairline clear down the hoof. I have been told by some that she will have this split or crack forever because there appears to be a scar above the hairline. Is this true? Or is there something I can do for the hoof that will allow it to grow back without the split? I would appreciate any information you could provide, since I am a first time horse owner and want to provide her with good care. Thanks Sharon Priddy
