Five days ago I adopted a horse from the humane society who has four white feet. He was starved before they seized him and he's been on Clovite and Source for two years. He's got cracks, chips and on one hoof, he bent back the hoof wall. It didn't do any damage other than making it more fragile. He's sound now, but I want to assure he will stay that way. What else can I do besides having all four feet shod? Is there something I can paint on his feet to harden them up? Any advice you can give me would be very much appreciated.
